PHYSIOTHERAPIST, NATIONAL SENIOR MEN’S SEVENS TEAM
Danielle Mah
The Physiotherapist, National Senior Men’s 7’s (NSM7’s) Team has a primary role, under the guidance of the High Performance Manager to ensure the optimum injury prevention, rehabilitation and availability of NSM7’s Team players (and other players training at the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence) to prepare and succeed on the World Stage (IRB World Series, Olympics, etc). The role requires this individual to be the main provider of professional therapy treatment to Rugby Canada NSM7’s Team players, having full responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the therapy services to the team both at the Centre of Excellence (COE) and also, as directed by the High Performance Manager, at tournaments played at various locations throughout the year. Danielle Mah is employed as the full-time Physiotherapist with the National Senior Men’s Sevens Program. She manages the treatment and rehabilitation for Rugby Canada's male athletes. Based at the Centre of Excellence in Langford, Victoria, she provides full-time care in Rugby Canada’s Medical Office. Danielle not only manages the physical health of our athletes in-house but travels with the teams as part of the touring medical staff.
Danielle’s education started at the University of British Columbia where she completed a BSc (Hon) in Human Kinetics, in 2004. Following this, her studies took her overseas where she obtained a BSc (Hon) in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2008. Her post-graduate studies include a Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy from Curtin University in Perth, Australia. She has obtained a vast amount of sports experience working in international competition in Europe with the Football Association in Ireland, and her rugby background spans from her time as a Head Physiotherapist for Irish Club Rugby with Bective Rangers from 2008-2013.
