COORDINATOR, PROMOTIONS and BRANDING
Alexandra Francis
The Coordinator, Promotions and Branding will implement Rugby Canada’s promotional strategies, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging participation in events and purchase of products / services. This role coordinates with the Commercial Operations team and Rugby Canada’s Agency of Record to support their respective promotional programs through management of all promotional pieces (posters, flyers, programs, etc.), ensuring consistency in brand and messaging of these marketing pieces. The Coordinator, Promotions and Branding is responsible for assisting in the management and growth of the Rugby Canada brand and image which is an integral part of the union’s visibility as well as revenue generation. The Coordinator is expected to meet all targets as set out by the Commercial Operations Department.
Alexandra Francis is currently employed as the Coordinator, Promotions and Branding. Alexandra has been with Rugby Canada since 2011, and began as an Intern in the Merchandise & National Team Equipment Department. Following a successful internship, Alexandra was hired as the Coordinator of Merchandise & Promotions and then moved on to fill her current role. Alexandra creates promotional plans for all departments within Rugby Canada, organizes all media buys and manages PR for players and National Teams. She is the gatekeeper for the Rugby Canada’s Brand and ensures the fan experience is engaging and interactive. Alexandra is instrumental in creating and maintaining a strong brand for Rugby Canada and growing awareness outside of the organization.
Alexandra Francis completed a Sport Management Degree at Brock University in 2010. She has a background in Figure Skating and was a member of the Markham Figure Skating Club from 1998-2006. She attended 4 National Championships with the Markham Elite Edge Synchronized Skating Team and won on the Junior Open Team in 2005 in Brandon, Manitoba.
