PHYSIOTHERAPIST, NATIONAL SENIOR WOMEN’S SEVENS TEAM
Adrienne Stinson
The Physiotherapist, National Senior Women’s 7’s (NSW7’s) Team has a primary role, under the guidance of the High Performance Manager to ensure the optimum injury prevention, rehabilitation and availability of NSW7’s team players (and other players training at the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence) to prepare and succeed on the World Stage (IRB World Series, Olympics, etc). The role requires this individual to be the main provider of professional therapy treatment to Rugby Canada NSW7’s Team players, having full responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the therapy services to the team both at the Centre of Excellence (COE) and also at tournaments played at various locations throughout the year. In doing so, the Physiotherapist ensures that the players’ risk of injury is minimised and their recovery and rehabilitation from injury is maximised.
Adrienne Stinson joined Rugby Canada in April 2013 as the lead Physiotherapist with the National Senior Women’s programs. Primarily working with the centralized sevens program in Victoria she is also coordinating the medical with the fifteens and development programs.
Adrienne graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with her BScPT and in BScKin, having played five years of CIS soccer while studying. She is a Sports Certified Physiotherapist that previously worked as the lead therapist at the University of Saskatchewan for the past 4 years with the Huskies’ hockey, soccer and wrestling teams. Since graduation she has completed numerous professional development courses and exams in the field of sports physiotherapy and orthopaedics and is currently working towards her dry needling and sports diploma.
Adrienne has relocated to Victoria to be operate from the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence.
