Pack Grab 4 Points in Regular Season Kick Off

Pack Grab 4 Points in Regular Season Kick Off

The Wolves entered the 2020/21 regular season season this weekend with a home and home series against the Irma Chargers.  This weekend was originally scheduled by the AJFHL as an Exhibition Series but the league was able to expedite the season start.

Game 1:

Our home opener felt different this year.  The Pack was itching to go nonetheless.  A resilient young Chargers squad work hard and kept the Wolves offence at bay. But in the second period.  The Wolves struck twice.  Former Edmonton Thunder/Panda, Team Alberta U18 and Nipissing Laker Madison Laplante struck early with her first of the season at the 11:15 mark.  With 1 second remaining in the frame, former Edmonton Panda Payden Bialowas pounded in a rebound for her second point of the night.  Erynn Shantz took care of the rest and recorded her second shutout of the season and first regular season shutout.

Game 2:

A quick turn around for a noon game in Irma for this second of a back to back.  Lexi Bruce got the nod between the pipes for her first regular season game as a Wolf.  She did not disappoint by turning away all 24 shots for her second shutout and first regular season shutout of the year.

Carly Umbach scored the only tally of the first and would later go on to add 2 more for the hat trick.  Maggie Peterson and Clarissa Lewis added their first career Pack goals in the 2nd period.  Umbach and Bialowas would tally one more each in the frame.  Lebanese National Team member Talia Teliani would one time a beautiful back door pass from Lewis for her first of the season on the powerplay to start off the third. Annie Dumont would get her first of the season, Peterson added her second.  Former UofA Panda standout Taylor Kezama would add her first of the year and 4th point of the game and Umbach capped off her hat trick.

13 players would get in on the scoring action in this matinee.  The Wolves will now take their 14 day break before opening up a 2 weekend, 4 game set vs the Fort Fury starting on November 14th.
