Burnaby, BC - The Simon Fraser University Men’s Hockey team, in conjunction with the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League, officially released its 2014-15 regular season and exhibition schedule today.  SFU’s regular season opens on Friday, September 26 at Eastern Washington University. The first home game of the season is Friday, October 10 at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre versus Selkirk College.

The Clan’s schedule features seven games each against Trinity Western University and the University of Victoria, and six games each against Selkirk College and Eastern Washington University.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

September 26             Season Opener @ Eastern Washington University
October 10                  Home Opener vs. Selkirk College

SCHEDULE NOTABLES:

SFU makes eight road trips and hosts seven home stands. The Clan’s longest road trip consists of two away games, which SFU does four times. Simon Fraser’s longest home stand ranges three games, which occurs twice, from November 29 - January 10 and February 14 - 28. The busiest night of the week is Saturday with 15 games, followed by Friday when eight games are scheduled in 2014-15. SFU has one Thursday night game on the schedule.
EXHIBITION SCHEDULE:

In addition to the two previously announced exhibition games against Bowling Green State University and Miami University, the Simon Fraser University Men's Hockey team has filled out its exhibition schedule with four other games.
Only one of the games is against a fellow BC Intercollegiate Hockey League team, two are against Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference teams and one is against a Canadian Interuniversity Sport team.

The six game exhibition schedule is also interrupted by the start of the 2014-15 BCIHL season on September 26 and 27, when SFU travels to Cheney, Washington for back-to-back games against the University of Washington Eagles. Due to ice being unavailable at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre, SFU won't host a home game - exhibition or otherwise - until Friday, October 10 against Selkirk College.

The exhibition schedule is as follows (all times Pacific):

Tuesday, September 9 @ University of British Columbia - Thunderbird Sports Centre - 7:15 pm
