BRIAN WIEBE - Play-by-Play
Brian Wiebe is in his second season as the SFU Men's Hockey team play-by-play broadcaster. Wiebe has been involved in broadcasting sports in BC for 13 years.

He is also the host of the weekly "Inside the BCIHL" feature on the league's website.

In addition, he is the Operations Manager at Evolution 107.9 and Assistant Instructor/Admissions Coordinator for the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to that, he served as Program Manager, Morning Host, and Sports Director with Merritt Broadcasting Ltd. in Merritt for close to ten years. Wiebe got his start in sports broadcasting as colour commentator on Burnaby Bulldogs radio broadcasts on CFML 104.5 in 2001.

Wiebe's career in sports also includes stints outside of the broadcast booth, as he was a member of the Merritt Centennials Board of Directors from 2006-2008, including one season as Team President. He also served as Centennials' webmaster from 2006-2012 and Media & Communications Coordinator from 2010-2012.

He also is a contributing writer to the BC Hockey League's Smart Hockey magazine and maintains a hockey blog called Brian's Banter covering the BCIHL, NCAA, BCHL, PJHL, KIJHL, BCMML and more.

Wiebe is a graduate of the Radio Broadcasting Program at BCIT.

Wiebe and his wife, Karla, live in Port Moody with their sons Evan and Riley.
