SFU Hockey: SFU Hockey Viral Video Contest
SFU Hockey 2012 VVC (Viral Video Contest)

Calling all video producers, editors, and filmmakers!

SFU Hockey will be holding a viral video contest beginning on August 27th 2012 (the start of training camp) and ending on October 15th 2012. All filmmakers, amateur and professional, are invited to accompany the team and produce their own short viral video to be posted on youtube, sfuhockey.com, as well as the team's various social media outlets.

The suggested theme will be "SFU Hockey: Up Close and Personal." The video should build excitement for the on-ice competition, build pride in representing SFU, and build awareness of the players on a more personal level. Videos are suggested to be kept below 4 minutes in length, but this is up to the discretion of the producer. Contestants will be judged on quality, innovation, excitement, and public response to the video.

Throughout the contest SFU Hockey will grant access to team facilities and activities including practices, dry-land training, ice-level unobstructed seating at home games, away games, and more. Each contestant will need to provide their own equipment. The duration of the contest spans pre-season training, an exhibition game against the Coquitlam Express, five home games and two road games, including the University Hockey Classic, a two-game series against UBC.

All participants will recieve promotion for their video throughout the regular season, while the finalists and winners will receive exclusive SFU merchandise, a pair of season tickets for the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons, as well as a chance to become an official SFU Hockey Creative Marketing Consultant!

To enter, please contact hockey@sfu.ca with a brief proposal of your video idea.
