Simon Fraser University Men's Hockey team has teamed up with the Canadian Breast Cancer foundation in efforts to end breast cancer. On January 18
th, 2014, SFU will be hosting a PINK game against Selkirk College at Bill Copeland Arena in Burnaby British Columbia. Breast Cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women. It is estimated that 23,800 Canadian women and 200 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer by the end of this year. Moreover, it is anticipated that 5000 women and 60 men will die due to breast cancer this year. Till this day, a main cause for Breast Cancer has still yet to be determined.
In support of this cause, SFU will be dedicating part of the ticket sales towards the foundation. Players will also be wearing Pink Ribbon Stickers on their helmets along with other Pink equipment. There will also be a silent auction at the game.
We encourage all attendees to join us and show their support for this wonderful cause by wearing pink to the game. Those who do so will receive free tickets to the following home game where they take on Trinity Western University on February 1
st.
