At the end of April Team USA will face off with Canada in Texas for a spot at the Men’s World Floorball Championships in Switzerland. Now we can reveal the squad that will represent the red, white and blue.

The 14th Men’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) will be played in Zurich & Winterthur, Switzerland from 5th – 13th November 2022. In total, 36 teams registered for the event – 24 from Europe, nine from Asia Oceania, one from Africa, and two from the Americas.

Switzerland, as the event organizer, is directly qualified, while regional qualifications will be played to decide the remaining 15 teams. You can read more here.

The WFCQ for the Americas will be played the 29th-30th of April at the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

The event will take place at the same time as the Texas Open and there is a lot in the works to make this a great happening for floorball in the U.S.

The event was initially scheduled for February but was postponed due to Covid. This has caused some issues in the selection process but we can finally reveal the team for the WFCQ!

“We have been able to put together a very exciting team with some players who have been through this before as well as players who are newcomers to the national team environment. We are also very pleased to be able to have a number of U19 players on the squad, players who continue to develop and will contribute as we battle for a spot at the WFC,” says general manager Adam Troy.

The team will be lead by head coach Joel Olofsson who will have assistant coach Stefan Hedlund by his side for the event.

“An exciting team that will face Canada twice for a spot in the World Championship. A great first test for some guys on the national team with help from more experienced ones. The qualifiers will also serve as a stepping stone towards the World Games,” says head coach Joel Olofsson.
