Although we did not get the results we wanted in the Men’s WFCQ this weekend the event in Texas was a huge success on so many levels.
We wish Canada good luck at the WFC and we will be back with a vengeance at the The World Games in July!
Our MU19 team looked more talented and successful than it ever has been. The future is bright with our current stream of player development for the MU19.
Our Women’s National team had a strong showing for their development camp at TCU as well and they are looking poised to break in to the top 10 at the next World Floorball Championships.
USA Floorball would like to thank every single player, coach, staff member, volunteer, and everyone else who made it possible for us to arrange an amazing World Floorball Championship Qualifier at TCU.
We are so grateful to the people that do these events in their spare time, away from families and regular jobs. Creating an elite level event like the WFCQ in one of the smallest Floorball markets in the world, is a huge accomplishment.
Texas Open was a huge part of the success of this event. It would not have been possible without Brian Radichel and Darryl Gross’s tireless around the clock work, to make the tournament run perfectly and on time around the two WFCQ games against Canada.
I can’t say enough about all the NTFA members and the NTFA board’s support from day one. USA Floorball would not have been able to pull this off without the support of the NTFA, and their commitment, hard work, sweat and blood. Luckily we only had some blisters, pinched and cut fingers.
Tons of people helped with moving, installing and removing the Gerflor flooring. The list is endless of people that stepped up and helped with this! Too long to put in this article and we would feel bad to leave anyone out of it. Rather than trying to mention everyone involved, we will not put any specific names here. Even the visiting Canadiens got involved.
This was all done in the best interest of the sport that we all love!
For those of you who follow us closely, you already know that we have become a huge Floorball fellowship. Everyone is helping out and supporting where needed, but we need even more people and a rotation of resources for the future.
We are trying to make sure that we do not burnout our own small group and continue to grow bigger for the future. Because this can get overwhelming and hard if you end up doing too much, even if you love what you do.
If you know anyone that is interested in being a part of an event organization from a volunteer standpoint, please let me know: calle@usfba.org
You do not need to be a Floorball player to be a part of the organizer committee. This could be a parent, sibling, student. This is open to anyone that wants to be a part of the event organizer group. We have also received request from students at TCU to be involved moving forward. So we also encourage any student that is interested in event experience and sport management experience to get extra credits.
To all of you who stood by us and believed in us, thank you! However, we are not done in anyway and we are now eagerly looking forward to the rest of the Floorball events this year, starting with the Youth Nationals in Chicago in June and then on to the TWG2022 in Birmingham and there is plenty of more to come.
Thanks, and see you all soon again!
