We are very excited to announce that Nick VanPatten has joined the men’s team staff as an assistant coach and scout.
“This is a great addition to our staff that will add tactical depth and help expand our scouting possibilities so we can cover more floorball events in the states and build stronger ties with the USA floorball community,” says general manager Adam Troy.
Nick VanPatten is a veteran of the North Texas Floorball Association, both as a player and president. He has lead NTFA teams to US Nationals gold on and off the court and has been part of the men’s U19-program, not least at the World Floorball Championships in Denmark where he was an assistant coach.
“Nick is a winner that is at most floorball events in the states and is known and respected as a tough but fair competitor. He will be scouting, and making contact, with national team prospects across the states. He will be a very valuable asset going forward as we build a team to represent USA Floorball on and off the court and build a team to make it to the World Floorball Championships,” Adam Troy concludes.
Nick VanPatten is more than ready to take on this role starting this coming weekend at the Golden Gate Cup. There he will be found on the court battling for gold as well as off observing and making contact with national team prospects off the court.
“Taking on this new position presents an exciting opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I’m eager to bring my experience, knowledge, and passion to USA Floorball and contribute to the development of our athletes. This position offers a fresh challenge, and I’m excited about the chance to learn from the current Men’s staff and collaborate with the team to help create a positive, successful environment. It’s an opportunity to expand my coaching skills, work with a new group of athletes, and contribute to the overall success of the program,“ Nick VanPatten reveals and continues.
“In this position, my hopes are to make a positive impact on the players by helping them reach their full potential, both as athletes and individuals. I want to foster a strong team culture based on trust, hard work, and mutual respect. I also aim to continue developing my coaching skills, learn from my colleagues, and contribute to the overall success of the program. Ultimately, I hope to be part of a coaching staff that pushes the team to achieve its goals, creates a competitive and supportive environment, and helps each player grow in their sport and as people.”
Feel free to talk to Nick if you see him at an event if you are interested in the men's national team.
This weekend the men’s team will be hosting a camp at the Golden Gate Cup followed by a camp at the Texas Open before it is time for the 3v3 WFC in Switzerland in May.
