USA Floorball is gearing up for the next Men's U19 World Floorball Championships (WFC) in 2023!  The competition will be held in Frederikshavn, Denmark from April 26-30, 2023.  We will have to qualify against other North American teams in late 2022.

Floorball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world today, with nearly 70 countries participating in the International Floorball Federation (IFF).  The home page for the IFF can be found at While similar games have been played for years in different parts of the world, modern floorball rules and administration were first established in Sweden in 1979.  Today, over 3 million players play floorball recreationally.

The United States Floorball Association was founded in 1994 and has been devoted to growing the game in the US.  Today, active leagues and clubs can be found in all parts of the country, and their numbers are growing.  As part of their mission, USA Floorball operates five national teams, in both adult and U19 for both men and women, and U16 for boys and girls.  Each year, two WFC events are held, one for U19, and one for adults.  The 2021 MU19 WFC was held in Brno, Czechia this year and the Czech Republic successfully defended their title from 2019.  The Women's U19 WFC is ongoing in Uppsala, Sweden presently.  Due to the pandemic, there are more events going on this year.  The women's WFC will be held over Thanksgiving in Uppsala, and the men's WFC will be held in Helsinki in early December.

The U19 Men placed 14th in Halifax, beating Japan in a thrilling pool game with 1.8 seconds remaining to advance to the 13th place game, where they lost to Canada.  Since then, we are focused on building a continuous program of MU19 Development Team participation in US tournaments around the country.  The ultimate goal is to field 20 players grown and developed in the United States who have played together for a number of years.  We are on our way to that goal!

The General Manager of the team is Brian Radichel, from Flower Mound, Texas.  "I am excited to pick up where Kenton Walker left off and not let off the gas at all," he said.  "This team and this program is building excitement, and youth floorball is growing around the United States.  I feel confident that we can continue to spread the game and develop new young players who will represent the United States at the highest junior level in international floorball."

Like many sports in the US, the team is self-funded and relies on donations to help offset the cost of the travel, lodging, and entry fees.  Interested companies can contact Brian Radichel, General Manager, at  Since USA Floorball is a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
