The CASA Executive wanted to send a big THANK YOU to all players, coaches, volunteers, parents/guardians, and spectators on another fun, exciting season of Comets fastball. A special thank you to all our head coaches for all of the organization and extra work you put into the season.
This year, we were able to grow our organization to offer 13 teams in age divisions ranging from U5 to U23, up from 10 teams the previous year!
In both U5 (Timbits T-Ball) and U7, we had two teams who had great seasons of fun and learning.
CASA hosted the U9 final tournament this year, and all three Caledonia teams won games and competed well in the “A” division, with Caledonia 2 winning the Haldimand Erie Fastball League Championship. Congratulations! Thanks to Brent Fehrman, Stacie Fehrman, Troy Vanderburg, and Jaden Brownell for all of their work in organizing and running the tournament.
In U11, CASA offered both a girls and boys team. The U11 Girls team had a successful and fun season overall. The U11 Boys team competed in the ORSA provincial tournament, finishing 3rd overall in the province in the “A” division! The Boys also were Erie League finalists, losing a heartbreaker by one run in the championship to the St. George Rep team.
In U13, the girls team had an amazing season, finishing as Erie League finalists as well in a close championship game. For the first time in many seasons, CASA was able to offer a boys team in this age group as well – the future is looking bright!
In both U17 and U23, the girls teams had a great seasons, competing in tough Erie League divisions in these age groups.
Again, CASA would like to congratulate all players on a great season. We hope to see everyone back next spring for another season of Comets fastball – look for early bird registration beginning in January/February.
Finally, the CASA Executive is always in need of more volunteers to help with our organization, especially in the younger age groups (U5/U7). A large executive makes for less work for all involved, so we hope to grow even further – please reach out to any executive member if interested, or emailcalcomets@gmail.comfor further information.
