Hello Comets families,
As we are only a couple weeks away from beginning practices, we wanted to answer some common questions about the upcoming season.
When does the season start?Most teams will begin practices around the 1st or 2nd week of May, with games
usually beginning after the May long weekend.
We are still looking for a few coaches in a few divisions (U7, U9, specifically), so once we have all our coaching staffs in place, more details will be shared.
What night of the week is softball?While the home game night is set, away games are dependent on the other centres. We will have more details on what night is the home night for all our teams by the first week of May - there are many factors in determining this, including diamond availability, and how many / what teams are running each year in the Comets organization. Most teams will play 1-2 games a week. All of our teams, from U5 T-Ball, to U23 Women, play games in the Haldimand Erie Fastball League, which is comprised of local organizations including Cayuga, Hagersville, Fisherville, Jarvis, Six Nations, and other centres.
What diamond will we play at?Again, we hope to have more details on what night/diamond your team will play on by the first week of May. However,
usually U5 (T-Ball) and U7 play at the Kinsmen Diamond (by the pool/splash pad). U9 and above are split between the diamond at McKinnon Park Secondary School, and the main diamond at the Caledonia Arena.
