U13 Boys Begin 2nd Half of Season

On Friday, July 7, the U13 Boys team began the 2nd half of the season by travelling to Jarvis.
Caledonia began the game strong with Drew G and U11 call-up Lucas M collecting hits. Logan G and Mason B would draw walks, and all four would score on great baserunning and walks by Eli J, Owen L, and Trey S in the inning. In the bottom half of the first, pitcher Mason B shut down the Jarvis offence to keep the game 4-0 for the Comets.
The teams' offences would then trade back and forth for the next few innings. Caledonia's offence would keep pace, with Drew G collecting 3 walks and 2 more runs, Lucas M collecting another hit, a walk and two more runs as well. Logan G would collect 2 hits, Mason B a walk, Eli J another 2 walks and a run, and Owen L a hit, a walk and a run. Not to be outdone, Curtis S collected a walk and a run in the last inning, Trey S collected a walk, a hit and a run, Jayce B would get a hit and score, and Ben St would also get a hit, walk, and run to give Caledonia 14 total runs.
Jarvis's offence battled back, but strong defence, and a strong pitching debut by Jayce B would keep the game tied, a 14-14 final.
On Monday, July 10, Caledonia would host Six Nations.
Pitcher Mason B was on fire for the Comets, collecting 6 strikeouts and only giving up 1 run in the first two innings of play. Ben St would make his pitching debut in the third, and strong defence in that inning and the 4th once again pitched by Mason B would limit the Six Nations offence to 8 runs total.
Offensively, Caledonia came out of the gates aggressively, scoring 4 in the first, 5 in the second, and 2 more in the final two innings, giving Caledonia the victory. Ben Sh had 1 hit, Drew G had two walks and three runs, Ben St had a double, a single and two runs, Owen L three walks and two runs, Logan G three hits and a run, Trey S a big double that cashed in a couple runs, Mason B a walk, hit, and run, Mason H two singles, Curtis S a walk, and Eli J a couple strong at bats that allowed runners to move into scoring position. Cayde B led the offence, collecting two runs and a single, double, and triple in the game.
Caledonia has two games next week vs Lynden and Cayuga.
