Nanaimo Clippers
CLIPPERS VS SPRUCE KINGS - DECEMBER 18 - GAME SUMMARY
The Clippers ended their two game losing streak with a statement win.
 
Nanaimo beat Prince George 9-1, their largest goal output of the season.
 
The goals started early with Matt Hoover scoring in the first minute on the man advantage.
 
Nolan Aibel followed that up with a shorthanded goal to put the Clippers up by two.
 
The only goal to beat Evan Johnson was a rebound from Adam Brubacher that made it 2-1.
 
Spencer Hewson restored the two goal lead before the end of the period.
 
Sheldon Rempal had the only goal of the second period on a wraparound behind goalie Liam McCloskey.
 
Prince George started Sam Tanguay in the first and switched to McCloskey in the second.
 
The third period was the Matt Creamer show.
 
He put Nanaimo up 5-1, then Matt Hoover scored, and Creamer added two more for his first career hat trick.
 
In midst of that sequence the Spruce Kings switched goalies again going back to Tanguay.
 
Devin Brosseau then added late power play goal to give the Clippers a 9-1 win.
 
Final shots were 32-25 in Nanaimo's favour, with the Clippers going 2/5 on the power play and 3/3 killing penalties.
 
Friday's Three Stars were 1) Matt Creamer 2) Matt Hoover 3) Lucas Finner
 
The Clippers will conclude their pre Christmas schedule Saturday in Victoria.
