Wolf Pack to Face the Atlantic Rock in 2018 CRC Semi Finals CALGARY 

(August 22, 2018)With the seeding round of the 2018 Canadian Rugby Championship complete, the stage is set for a match-up between the Wolf Pack and the Atlantic Rock in the semi-finals of the CRC on Thursday, August 23, 2018, kick off at the Calgary Rugby Park is 7:00 pm. 

The Rock surprised the Ontario Blues and emerged as the number one seed in the east. The Wolf Pack opened their home and home series with the BC Bears with a close victory over the 2017 Mac Tier Cup holders. The BC Bears came back strong and clinched the number one seed with a decisive victory at home, securing the vital bonus points that pushed them past the Wolf Pack in seeding. 

“We are looking forward to the match against the Rock. They are always a formidable side and will no doubt be emboldened with their success against the Blues,” said Jim Kazakoff, manager of the Wolf Pack. “We will be prepared. We have a real opportunity to move to the Final on Sunday, before a home crowd, and that is the ultimate goal,” added Kazakoff. In 2017, the Wolf Pack beat the Rock in the bronze medal match of the competition. 

The 2018 Canadian Rugby Championship competition — featuring the Atlantic Rock, BC Bears, Ontario Blues and Prairie Wolf Pack —commences on Thursday, August 23, 2018 with the BC Bears playing the Ontario Blues at 5:00 pm. The Wolf Pack then faces the Atlantic Rock at 7:00 pm. All games to be played at the Calgary Rugby Park (9025 Shepard Road, S.E.)

ABOUT THE WOLF PACK:The Prairie Wolf Pack is a Canadian rugby union team representing the Prairies region in the Canadian Rugby Championship, which is the highest level of domestic rugby competition in Canada. The Team primarily draws players from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The Wolf Pack won the MacTier Cup in 2015 before a home crowd.
