Big Blast Powers Humber Past Durham in Game #2 Upset
- Submitted by

Humber used a Kris Muccilli 3-run home run in the sixth inning along with strong pitching and defense to upset Durham in Game #2.  Mucilli's blast off Durham reliever Jake Olynyk curled down the line in left field pushed by a strong wind but stayed fair and allowed Humber to increase their lead to four runs.  That proved to be the decisive hit as Durham scored a run in the sixth and  stranded the tying run at second in the seventh inning.

Humber pitcher Cody Laycox allowed just two hits in five innings adding six strikeouts and Dylan Waterman came on in relief for two innings to preserve the win.  Durham shortstop Tyler Mitchell had one of Durham's three hits adding an RBI in a losing cause.  James Rowe was tagged with the loss for Durham on the mound but only allowed one hit in five innings of work.
