Cape Breton played clean ball for five innings holding a 3-0 lead over Concordia going into the sixth inning. Capers starting pitcher Justin Brewer held the Stingers to only 1 hit through five. Concordia strung together 4 hits and tied the game a 3-3 after six. Concordia then loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh and used a sacrifice fly to score the walk-off win in dramatic fashion.
Concordia's Brandon Berkovits pitched a complete game for the win allowing only 2 earned runs while spreading out 5 hits and struck out 3 Cape Breton batters. At the plate the Stingers were led by Tim Riley and Marshall Johnston who had 2 RBI's each while Marco Masciotra had two hits scoring two runs including the game winner.
Cape Breton's Joshua Spooney led them at the plate with a pair of hits including a double and drove in a run. Brewer took the loss but deserved better striking out 9 Concordia batters while allowing only 2 earned runs.
