RESTON ADVANCES TO MSBL FINAL
The Reston Rockets advanced to the Manitoba Senior Baseball League final on Sunday by defeating the Neepawa Farmers 5-1, completing a three game sweep in the best of five semi-finals.

In Reston, the Rockets broke open a 2-1 game with three in the bottom of the eighth to put it away.  Winning pitcher Luis Avila threw 160 pitches in going the distance, scattering eight hits, walking four, and striking out five.

The 2-3-4 hitters in the order did the bulk of the damage as Buddy Mayert was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, Rory Tycoles went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two steals, and Tony Isbell had a single, home run, and a stolen base.

Roberto Rodriguez took the loss.  He threw seven innings, allowed four runs and nine hits.

At the plate, the Farmers got two hits from Isaac Rodriguez, Cam Tibbett, and Kevin Levandosky.
