CLOVERLEAFS CROWNED CHAMPIONS
The Brandon Cloverleafs are 2010 Manitoba Senior Baseball League champions.

The Cloverleafs defeated the Reston Rockets 6-5 on Tuesday night, scoring the deciding run in the bottom of the ninth inning to finish off a stunning four game sweep over the Rockets, who placed first in the regular season standings.

Kyle Nixon had two RBI on a night he went 0-for-2 with three walks.  Bryan Swaenepoel homered and lead off man Kevin McNeill paced the team with a pair of stolen bases.  Jason Rae finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Nixon also got the win, throwing 1 2/3 innings of relief for Sean Dryden.  Dryden was touched for four earned runs and seven hits.  He walked two and struck out five.  Nixon's run charged was unearned.

Reston starter Eric Truscott, a former Cloverleaf, gave up three runs in six innings.  He walked four and struck out four.  Tony Isbell took the loss.  He walked three and gave up one hit and one run in 2 2/3.

For the Rockets, Mitch Olson had a hit and two RBI.  Buddy Mayert had a single, triple, and two runs scored.
