GAME 2 – THE YOUNG AND THE YOUNG!
Well, any fan that was out to see Game 2 featuring the Charlan Loyalists vrs the Alexandria Glens got their money worth of entertainment! The game had a bit of everything; nice goals, some late in the third stand, great highlight saves by both net minders,  and  a couple of fights for good measure.   First period action saw both teams feeling their opponent out with the Loyalists Joey MacDougall finally potting one at 13:20 and then again at 5:08 for his second, leaving the ice up 2 on the Glens. The second period saw the Glens pick it up and finally getting on the board with a by Brad Massia at 15:47. The Glens would end the period down 2 – 1, but getting the better scoring opportunities. In the third, there were lots of chances early however it was the Glens that capitalized with goals by Brad Massia at 12:25 for the tie and again at 10:53 Lucas Ciale potted the go ahead goal. Well that’s what it took to get this thing into high gear and the fights pursued with just 8:00 minutes remaining. Loyalists Julian Moffat squared off with Glens captain Leo MacLean in a classic, while Loyalists  Jason Rose  went at it with Glens Adam Simpson. Loyalists Jonathan Jasper  and Glens Brennan Taillon also picked up 2 minute roughing penalties during the skirmish. It appears that was the turning point as Loyalists Joey MacDougall netted his third and tying goal with 7:25 left and then Jasper the winner with 4:33 left to play. The Loyalists would score another at 2:29 to clinch the victory with a score of 5-3.   This will be a rematch people will not want to miss, on Friday March 29th at the Glengarry Sports Palace.   The Glens will play the South Glengarry Legends at the Char-Lan Recreation Center tonight at 7:30pm. The Legends are coming off a 6-4 victory over the Maxville Highland travelers last Thursday night and we’re sure there will be some lineup changes for both teams. The Legends will be adding some speed and the Glens will add some seasoned veterans.
