The TVSBL is pleased to announce this years awards winners. SuperSimon is the 2017 MVP and Dapper Dan is the Ironman award recipient. In appreciation the league is sending them to Buffalo where the Bills will play New Orleans on November 11. Congratulations for a job well done.

After a season opening win vs Ingersoll, Oakridge finished out the month of May with wins over St. Thomas and London Area.
On the 23rd, the Cardinals visited Oakridge for their first regular season matchup of the year at Citywide Lower. This one was a tight and low scoring affair, as the two teams traded runs in the 2nd and 5th innings, with Oakridge eventually scoring the winning run in the 7th and taking the game by a score of 4-3. Spencer Cleaver and Phil Bruijns combined for 7 innings of work, while Kevin Lunter recorded the 6 out save for Oakridge.
On the offensive end, Ian Dick, Kevin Lunter, and Ryan Barker each had a hit and a walk, while St Thomas was lead by Brandon Scott and Bryan Patteson who each had a hit and a run scored.
The two teams also met on Monday June 2nd, but were rained out in the 5th with the score tied at 3.
On Friday May 30th, the London Area Angels hosted Oakridge at Byron, which featured strong outings from both pitchers. Nick Thompson struck out five batters through 5 innings, and was tough until Oakridge eventually got to him in the 4th and 5th for three runs. On the other side, Ian Dick went seven innings for Oakridge giving up two runs on six hits, and recorded an impressive thirteen strikeouts.
Greg Hayden had 3 hits for the Angels, while Taylor Jones added a double and a walk. Oakridge was lead by Jon Park who had four singles and two runs scored. Cody Cleaver added three hits and two runs, while Jason Smith also had two hits. Oakridge took this one by a score of 8-3.
Next up in TVSBL play, Oakridge will host Listowel on Friday June 13th at Byron.
