The Other Team Takes Gold

Up in Kamloops over the past weekend, The Other Team succeeded in their goal of making it to the finals. After a long hard fought battle into the Semifinals the Langley squad's bats went silent as the highly vocal Vernon Tanks secured the 1st spot in the finals, sending The Other Team to the losers column to play the Silver/Bronze game against the delightful Kamloops Fusion. The Fusion played a tough game, but The Other Team's bats came alive, and hit, after hit, after hit put the squad at 12 runs shutting the Fusion down to secure the win as time expired in the 4th inning.

The stage was set for the final game. Things started out tough with only 1 run after 4 innings coming off a double in the 1st inning. 2 lonely singles being the only other offense that Budgies could manage against what appeared to be a fire-spitting pitching ace on the mound for the Tanks.

Still down by 2 in the top of the 6th inning, Langley managed to bunt runners in from 3rd base, 3 times in a row to take the lead. Top of the 7th inning saw The Other Team plate 3 more runs to go ahead by 4 runs. The Vernon squad couldn't catch up and The Other Team was rewarded with the 1st place trophy!
