An individual practice/ open session (no coaching) for ice hockey players to hone and develop their stick and Puck handling skills. Participants are required to wear full ice hockey kit to be eligible to enter the session. Open to all ages

Learn to play
When: Monday 5:45pm - 6:45pm
Cost: $24.00 per session or $200.00 for 10 weeks
Come along to our Ice Hockey School! Every Monday evening during school terms, starting at 5:45 PM, join us as the expert instructors from Hockey MD guide you through the ins and outs of ice hockey.
And the best part? It’s open to everyone—men, women, and all ages! Our Ice Hockey School is divided into four sections: Grow the Game, Skate the Game, Save the Game and Play the Game. Beginners will focus on fundamental skills like skating techniques, stick handling, and basic puck control. As you progress, advanced sessions will cover shooting, defending, attacking, passing drills, and more.
Pricing options are $24.00 a week for Skate, Save & Play; $14.00 a week for Grow the Game or $200 for a 10-week term
Youngstars training – skill level checked prior & invite only
When: Tuesday 5:15pm - 6:15pm Cost: $15.00 per session
Next level training from Learn to Play. Ideal for children playing inhouse league or rep level players. New members details need to be registered with the Youngstars Manager and their skill level assessed prior to attending.

Mites training
When: Sunday mornings 7.15am to 8.15am Cost: $15.00 per session
Targeted for younger/less experienced players – 10 years and under.

Newcastle In House Hockey (NIHL)
Organized by
Hockey MD, the NIHL sets the stage for both senior players, aged 14 and above, and juniors in the 14U category.
The NIHL is also a fantastic entry point to graduates of the Learn to Play Ice Hockey school who are looking to start their competitive ice hockey journey.
Interested players looking to join the NIHL will be placed into divisions and teams according to their playing background. Full protective gear is mandatory for all participants.
The league plays year-round, spanning both winter and summer seasons, ensuring non-stop action on the ice!
