- There will also be a field to indicate any past ice or ball hockey experience.
2. PLAYER LINKING
When you register, you have the option to link to one other player who is also registering.
- For example: If Jane Doe registers and chooses to link to Sarah Smith, Sarah must also mention Jane Doe when she registers.
- Linking to someone is optional.
3. TEAMS/TEAM CAPTAINS
- Each team will have two co-captains.
- Each co-captain can link to one other player in the league, forming a “Core Four” (two co-captains and their linked players).
- The number of teams will depend on how many players register.
4. DRAFT RULES
The draft will be a closed meeting with the OVWBHL Executive Committee and team captains.
Key points include:
1. Every player will be ranked, but the rankings will not be shared with players.
2. Rankings will follow a system: AA, A, B, C, D.
3. The goal is to distribute players of different skill levels fairly among teams, but some exceptions may apply.
4. Before the draft, captains will receive a list of players, their ranks, and any linked players. Captains can review this list with their co-captains to strategize.
5. Captains will know how many players from each rank (AA-D) are allowed on their team to help with planning.
6. The “Core Four” players’ ranks also count toward the team’s overall player limits.
7. The draft order will be determined on draft day by drawing cards (Ace is high, 2 is low). The draft may use a snake format or a computer system.
8. When it’s a team’s turn, they can pick one player. If that player has a linked player, the team also picks the linked player.
9. Captains can choose lower-ranked players over higher-ranked ones if they prefer, i.e., they select a friend who is ranked lower than another player available that is ranked higher.
10.The draft continues in this manner until all players are assigned to teams.
4. FEE
Every player is required to pay $74 for the season. There is no part-time fee. If a player is not registered to the Tuesday Night Competitive League or the Wednesday Rec League, they must pay an additional $11 for CBHA/OBHF Insurance.
