GAME SOFTBALLS and EQUIPMENT - ALL TEAMS
Teams will be able to pick up their 7 new softballs (and any "purchased-thru-the-League" base equipment) this coming Sat April 13 and Sun 14. 11:00am until 2pm both days. Location: South Memorial Park, 900-1000 block E. 41st Avenue (between Fraser/Knight). We'll be outside the main diamond clubhouse, east side of the driveway. Map link: http://goo.gl/maps/RO97S
Team Reps - if you cannot attend, please send someone on your behalf.
- In the unlikely event that you or a teammate are unable to pick up your softballs at the upcoming dates (this weekend April 13 and 14), please notify your Exec - info@vanrecsoftball.com - to arrange a pick-up time and location. Fees will be charged to teams not making pick-up arrangements by April 21st.
The League’s official softball: Worth Super Grey Dot, COR .40 Yellow are $80 per dozen.
EQUIPMENT - NEW TEAMS
Mat-Ball teams – Please contact us regarding your “Strike Mats” (i.e. home plate extensions) and softballs. You will need your mat for field set-up.
4-Pitch teams - Dead-Ball Zone cones can be picked up when you pick-up your 7 new game softballs.
All teams - please make sure that you have bases that are in good repair and that can be safely and securely fastened to the ground.
Equipment lists and field set-up diagrams can be found under the “More” drop-down menu.
Purchasing equipment: IF you *notify us prior to the weekend, you can definitely purchase new base equipment from us. Home plate - $15; Full base set with 6 spikes - $125. Individually purchased: Safety double base - $55; regular bases - $32.50 ea.; home plate - $15; spike (Chicago-style - the best) - $5.
* if you do not notify us in advance, we may still have some equipment for sale, but no guarantee.
CONTACT LIST
Please send us your team's primary contact and secondary contact with your name, email and phone number for each. If you sent this to us in the last week or two, you don't need to send it again. For a number of contacts, we have multiple emails and incomplete information. Please help us keep our lists current and accurate.
SCHEDULES - Regular season games begin week of April 15. Schedules should be posted one week prior.
Previous season's schedules can be viewed by clicking on a division, then "Schedules" then use the menu box in the top right corner of the schedules' box to choose any historical season you wish to view.

- There are no make-up nights available for Monday divisions.
- Tuesday thru to Thursday teams: before you choose to reschedule, remember that some of you have NO open dates remaining.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE REAL FIRST NAMES, LAST NAMES & EMAIL ADDRESSES ON YOUR ROSTERS. The rosters will be sent to our Insurer on July 1st. The rosters are used for insurance coverage verification purposes and the insurance company may delay or deny coverage for injuries if the information on your roster is not accurate!
Related Info: VanRec's insurance covers 20 participants per team. Please try to keep your total number to 20 or fewer names. If you've exceeded 22 names, please contact the League by email and advise us. There is a $6 fee payable by your team to the League for every person over 22 that is on your roster. This over-limit fee is what the Insurer charges VanRec Softball.
The rosters will be partially re-opened in time for the Year-End Playoffs to allow you to add a few players for the playoffs if you need to. You are limited to adding 5 more players and there can be no more than 3 of either sex within those 5.

Please update your rosters as soon as possible, as well as the Team Contacts information - which is updated in the Non-Player Personnel section of your Administrator account. For instructions click the link on the left that's called 'Update Contact Info' .
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: When you update your "Team Contact" info, you must also email those changes to vanrecsoftball@gmail.com
If you try to log into your back office (i.e. administrator site) and you are denied access, please email us right away at either info@vanrecsoftball.com and we'll re-activate your account.
Denied access could be due to security features that are built into the website, or some other issue, so don't panic - as "Denied Access" or "Error" messages don't necessarily mean you are doing something wrong.
The first games of the season are set to begin the week of Monday April 15th.
Schedules are posted One week in advance! If you don't know how to find the new division you're in, click on the ‘Pick A Site’ in the left margin (2nd link from the top) then go to the division you want as it will list all the divisions on that page AND the days that division is in. Then you can go to schedule or standings or administrator or whatever other link you want to go to in that division.
(Note: Some teams have been moved to a different division within the same night they registered on (for seeding purposes). Be sure to look at the other divisions that play on the same night. If you can't find your team, before emailing us, try looking in a division just above or below the one you think you should be in.
A friendly reminder to remember to inform us of any rained out games within the first few days after the game has been cancelled.
When teams agree to call a game because of rain or to cancel for some reason, at least one of the two teams affected need to email us at either:
as well as cc, the Team Rep from the other team. It's important to do this within 7 days of the rainout so that we can reschedule a field for the make-up game and adjust the schedules accordingly.
If no one reports a rainout/cancellation within 7 days, the game goes down as an unplayed tie and both teams get one point in the standings.
