Tonight is the fifth of seven regular season meetings this season between the Vernon Vipers & Merritt Centennials. The Vipers lead the season series 3-1
Since the 2002-03 regular season Vernon is 61-19-3-8 vs. Merritt
Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 30-7-1-4 at home vs. Merritt
The Vipers last win at home vs Merritt was a 5-3 victory on Wednesday, November 18th 2015
The Centennials last win in Vernon was a 4-1 victory on Tuesday, November 10th 2015
Lets take a look at the Vernon Vipers:
The Vernon Vipers are coming off a 6-3 loss in Trail Wednesday have lost two straight. The Vipers host the Centennials for a final time this season, have two home games remaining before the Christmas break. Vernon has lost three of their last five and are 2-6-0-2 in their last ten games. The Vipers sit 4th in the Division just a single point up on Trail are seven points back of West Kelowna and eleven points back of Salmon Arm. The Vipers are 8-2 in their last ten games vs Merritt have lost seven of their last eleven home games.
Colton McCarthy (15-7-22) shares the the team lead in goals with fifteen, with Odeen Tufto (15-23-38) who leads the team lead in points with thirty eight.
Lets take a look at the Merritt Centennials:
The Merritt Centennials make their fourth and final visit of the regular season to Kal Tire Place. The Centennials are coming off a 5-2 loss in Chilliwack Sunday wrap up a four game road trip tonight. Merritt has lost four straight away from home, has played the last four out of five games on the road. The Cents are 1-3 in Vernon this season, with their lone win coming on November 10th a 4-1 victory. Since the 2003-04 regular season Merritt is 10-30-1 in Vernon. The Cents have three games left before the holidays. Merritt has lost three straight and four of their last five games are 2-7-0-1 in their last ten. The Centennials sit last in the Interior Division are ten points back of Trail and eleven points back of Vernon for the fourth and final playoff spot.
Gavin Gould (19-22-41) leads the team in goals with nineteen & in points with fourty one.
