What A Game!

We thought Friday would bring the 'finale' and Dalhousie would be crowned the winner for 2025 but Tracadie had other ideas.  Dalhousie jumped out to a 3-1 lead after three innings and Andrew Carter looked strong on the mound.  Dalhousie upped their lead to 6-2 with a big fifth inning but Tracadie stayed on their heels with a big inning of their own, powered by a 3 run homer from "Pillar", I mean Kevin Landry.  Dalhousie kept the pressure up, adding a run in the 6th and 2 more in the seventh, headed into the bottom of the seventh, leading 9-5.
Tracadie lead off the bottom of the seventh with three straight singles off a tiring Carter, and Joey Boudreau came on hoping for a save.  A sacrifice fly by FD Benoit, narrowed the score to 9-6, then Remi Legere, chipped in a single bringing it to 9-7.  Then Danny Mallett smashed a two run single to center to bring in the two tying runs and we were headed to extra innings, tied at 9-9.
Yan Rail was now pitching for Tracadie (having relieved Leland Metallic in the fifth) and in the top of the 10th, Rail allowed a huge triple by Brayden Lebel, with Lebel scoring on a ground out by Jayden Hickey to forge a 10-9 lead for Dalhousie.
But Tracadie was to come back again, with Zoel Benoit getting awarded first base on catcher's interference.  He was replaced by Zack Sonier, and Sonier would score the tying run on a Jolin Benoit single to right field.  The score was tied AGAIN, and with runners on second and third with two out, Yan Rail stepped up to bat and chipped a flare to right field to score the winning run.  Tracadie fans went wild, their team had come back and with their first lead of the night, captured a victory to tie the series at 3-3 with the deciding game in Dalhousie on Sunday, August 31st, scheduled for 7 pm.
Hitting stars for the game was Carter going 4-5 with 2 doubles, a home run to go with his single.  Landry was not to be outdone, going 3 for 4, a single, double and 3 run home run.
Epic battle guys, with good clean baseball...so sorry that someone had to lose.  Hope game seven is as good....Ian
