NHSL Preview: Tough Guys On Each Team

NHSL Preview: Tough Guys On Each Team

The much anticipated start of the NHSL is just around the corner.

Next Friday night the Brewers and the Stars go toe-to-toe in the league launching clash.

We outlined some potential leading point scorers last week but hockey isn't always about who shows up on the scoresheet. Sometimes the highlight of a game is a bone crunching hit, a game altering-hit or some good ol' fashioned physical play.

Here are three players on each team who can change the momentum of a game through their physical play.

Adelaide Xtreme

Jye Sarcich: The young forward was out there causing trouble in Premier League for the Tigers. Whether it be agitating the goalie in front of the net, or dropping the gloves with heavy weight Andrew Zolotarev, Sarcich is always in the middle of the Action. Check out his fight here.

Graham Charbonneau: Again, another link for your viewing pleasure. Charbonneau is a smart and savvy player who played top-level junior hockey in Canada and was an import for the Adrenaline. One of the top highlights is him truly finishing his check and depositing an opposition player literally over the boards.

Port Adelaide Brewers

Reece Boundy: If you haven't seen it yet, please do yourself a favour and click this link to watch an epic fight. Boundy dropped the gloves with Stars General Manager Matt Lothian in local hockey play. It was one for the ages. Boundy always plays physical even in non-checking A-Grade. He won't shy away from the tough stuff.

Jarrad Chester: The veteran defenseman is built tough and plays harder. He's been known to line-up opposing forwards coming up the middle of the ice before. So if you're a member of the Stars or Brewers...remember...head up or you might get rolled by #22.

Noarlunga Stars

Quenton Tombleson: Quenton is not afraid to throw the body around at all. He's been making big hits at the AIHL-level and in the Premier League for the last few years. Big, strong, and tough...he's not afraid to play the body!

Tyson Boyd: Much like Tombleson, he's not your prototypical tough guy but man is he ever solid. He can throw the body around, finish his checks. When he's on the ice you have to have an awareness of where he is.
