HSBC CANADA SEVENS TICKETS ON SALE DECEMBER 5TH

HSBC Canada Sevens

VANCOUVER, (November 28, 2017); On the eve of the 2018 HSBC Women’s Sevens Series opener in Dubai that kicks off on Thursday, November 30th, Canada Sevens organizers and Rugby Canada announced today the early bird and public on-sale dates for the 2018 HSBC Canada Women’s Sevens taking place May 12 and 13 at Westhills Stadium in Langford, BC.

Tickets to the 2018 HSBC Canada Women’s Sevens go on sale at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 5th for registered early-bird customers for a 48-hour window, followed by the public on-sale beginning at 10:00am, on Thursday, December 7th.  Ticket prices range from as low as $42.00 for two-day General Admission group tournament passes, to $89.00 for two days of Premium Reserved seating.  Full details of ticket pricing and categories can be found by visiting www.canadasevens.comSingle day ticket prices and on-sale dates will be released in March 2018.

The 2018 HSBC Canada Women’s Sevens is the 4th stop of the five-tournament series that culminates in Paris this year where both the men’s and women’s series’ will wrap in the French capital from June 8 -10.  2018 will mark the 4th consecutive year that Langford, BC and Westhills Stadium has served as host to the Canadian stop on the global tour. The tournament, in partnership with the City of Langford, has become a community favourite that regularly draws over 5,000 sports enthusiasts and rugby fans to Westhills Stadium on an annual basis.

“As the Women’s Series enters into its 4th year of being showcased here in Canada, we know we are in great shape thanks to the continued support from the City of Langford, and our many event partners and sponsors,” said Allen Vansen, CEO, Rugby Canada. “As we begin to prepare for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, we have a dynamic and talented squad that is setting their sights on the Series title this year.  Our players will be looking forward to playing in front of an enthusiastic and supportive home town crowd in order to try and improve one more place over last year’s silver medal performance in Langford.”

Canada finished third on the 2016-2017 series, with New Zealand capturing the title and Australia in second.  The Canadians captured the gold medal and tournament title in Sydney, while medaling in 5 of the 6 Series stops overall.

“We are truly excited to once again return to Westhills Stadium and the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence for the fourth annual HSBC Canada Sevens next May,” said Ghislaine Landry, Canada team captain.

“Based on the exciting atmosphere, world-class facility and support from the community of Victoria and Langford, Canada Sevens continues to be one of the favourite stops on the series for all 12 teams on the circuit. I encourage all sport and rugby fans to get your tickets early and support us as we look to win gold on home soil!”

Rugby Canada recently announced the women’s roster for Dubai, and the full list of names and bios can be found by visiting www.rugbycanada.ca. In anticipation of the start to the women’s series, check out the Canadian Women’s Sevens preview video here.
