CANADA U19 FALL TO ARDS RFC

BELFAST, IRELAND – Canada U19 dropped game two of their Northern Ireland Tour on Saturday 17-7 to Ards RFC. Canada's lone try was scored by Samuel Kahn. 

Game 1 thoughts from Coach Murten:

“We started the game very slowly, not to make excuses but the long flight, jetlag and an early morning on field training session did not help matters. Once the boys got into the game, and used to the environment (typical December Ulster weather) the boys played some good rugby. The boys started to move the ball well, and showed some great continuity, I was also impressed with the commitment and technique at the tackle area.

“We took the lead with around 7 minutes to go, unfortunately we could not take total control of the game.

Pre-game thoughts:

“Having seen the pitch and knowing the weather I expect today’s game to be a hard-fought physical battle up front. The boys are feeling a little bit tired and a little banged up, however we have a different starting 15 so I am expecting to see some energy, and a big commitment to the contact point.
