CANADA FINISH CAPE TOWN 7S IN FOURTH PLACE

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - Canada's Men's Sevens Team closed out 2017 in near-epic fashion on Sunday in Cape Town, as they finished the year off with a fourth place finish.

Canada opened day two with an emphatic 35-7 win over France before falling to Argentina 14-12 in the semi-finals.

With one final game of 2017 against arguably the best team in the world - South Africa - Canada put forth a huge performance, with tries from Harry Jones and Nate Hirayama (x2) in front of a sold-out crowd at Cape Town Stadium. However, the effort would fall just short as one conversion was the difference and Canada fell 19-17.  

Canada will now re-group and focus their attention on a busy 2018, with 10 tournaments set to take place in seven months. Canada will be back in action the weekend of January 26-28 in Sydney, Australia.
