LONDON, ENGLAND – Canada interim head coach Sandro Fiorino has made eight changes to his starting roster to face England on Tuesday in the second-of-three test matches on their November tour.
Canada were bested 79-5 in the series opener on Friday at Allianz Park, with England touching down for 13 tries including six from winger Jessica Breach on debut.
Captain Laura Russell moves to the second row to replace Ngalula Fuamba, while Manitoba’s Emily Tuttosi wins her first start on debut for Canada.
Fabiola Forteza has unfortunately been rules out of contention for the remainder of the tour due to injury. Head Coach Sandro Fiorino extensively reviewed the depth chart of national senior women and has chosen Pamphinette Buisa to join the squad for the remainder of the tour. As a current full-time carded player with Rugby Canada, Pam was not selected the upcoming Dubai tournament making her available for selection by Sevens Head Coach John Tait.
In the backs, Jess Neilson moves to scrum half, Brianna Miller slots in at fullback and Montreal’s Anais Holly is set to start at flyhalf. Emmanuela Jada has moved to the wing for Nadia Popov who remains on the bench.
Tuesday’s test matches marks the 27th time Canada and England have faced off over the years, with Canada winning on four occasions.
Canada and England will close out their tour on November 25 at Twickenham Stadium (kick off at 17:40 local time) after the senior men’s international between England and Samoa.
Kick off on Tuesday is 2:45pm ET/11:45am PT and will be available via TSN “GO” online.
