Brampton Battalion Minor Atom A
TROOPS NARROWLY ESCAPE WOOL TOWN
- Submitted by

The Battalion's breezed into Woolwich late Tuesday evening riding a 7 game unbeaten streak but narrowly escaped with a victory over the tenacious Wildcats.  You heard it here first folks.  The Wildcats came to play and are a bonafide contender in the Minor Atom Smith Division.  Don't let their now 6 - 5 and 1 record fool you into believing that they are a middle of the pack team.  This team can skate with the best in their Division.

The Wildcats came out flying to start the game and maintained a fast paced game throughout.  The story of the night for the Battalions was Adam Dunn who stopped all 16 shots he faced and seemed to come up with big saves when the Battalions needed them the most.

The Battalions got the first and only goal of the game in the second period when Jacob O'brien pounced on a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated in and fired a lazer beam from just inside the Woolwich blue line.  Following the goal, both teams traded fire back and forth with neither team allowing the other to gain ground.  Late in the game, the Battalions got into penalty trouble, with Kafes, O'brien and then Toth receiving minor penalties.  It took a complete team effort to preserve the shut out and the victory.

Our collective hats go off to the persistent Wildcats for an exciting and entertaining hockey game.

The schedule does not get any easier from here.  The Battalions face another tough challenge this Saturday against rival Oakville.  It should be another very exciting game.
