A quick-strike offence and uncompromising defence has the Bisons with the early edge in the HJHL finals.
Backstopped by a 27-save shutout from Dylan Fries and goals on consecutive shifts early in the first period, the Okotoks Carstar Bisons skated to the 3-0 win over the Sylvan Lake Wranglers in Game 1 of the Heritage Junior Hockey League best-of-five finals on March 23 at the Murray Arena.
"We made a conscious effort to start the game really strong," said Bisons head coach Brad Cobb. "After a 10-day break we wanted to make sure we were sharp and playing with some pace and hopefully catch them maybe playing at that slower pace against North Division teams.
