Simon's rugby career began with a placement on the NB junior team in 1989. He moved on to the senior provincial team in 1994. He has played club rugby for UVIC, CCSD and later Pacific Pride. He has toured to Paris, Fiji, South America and Jerusalem with the Canada Sevens team. Simon was also part of the "Newbie" movement at Oak Bay Castaways Wanderers, winning the 2001 BCRU Premier Division
Championship. He is a member of the Fredericton Loyalists RFC winners of Provincial, Maritime and Atlantic Premier League Championships. Simon was also selected to 2003 RCSL All Stars match vs the New Zealand Maoris and named to the Canadian Senior men’s squad to face Wales in 2005.
