Roller Hockey Fall Season Week 5 Recap

Week 5 of the Sportime roller hockey season is in the books. Here are the highlights.

 

Roller “A” Platinum

-The Swamp Donkeys picked up their second win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Good Beef by a 7-2 final. Brian Yohe lit the lamp four times for the Donkeys in the victory, and teammate Vinny Pontrello also chipped in with three points.

-The L.I. Blazers got in the win column on Wednesday night, earning a 9-1 victory over The Coasters. It was a total team effort for the Blazers, as Steve Pereira, Rob Braun, and Cory Triola all had multi-goal nights.

 

Roller “B” Gold

-After a rough start to the fall season, the Labeda Empire Snipers broke through in a big way on Wednesday night, with a 6-0 win over Redds Wicked. Steve Vidafar was perfect in net, stopping all 21 shots he faced.

-OMLB now holds a four-point lead for first place in the Gold division, after a 4-3 victory over the KJ Farrells on Wednesday. George Liapis and Steve Alini registered two points a piece in their team’s win.

 

Roller “C” Silver

-The Red Rockets earned their first win of the fall on Monday, with a dramatic 5-4 overtime win over No Chance. Brian Frey’s hat trick helped lead the Rockets to victory.

-Hatrick Swayze continues to impress this fall. On Monday they defeated the Halifax Highlanders, 7-1, led by a two-goal game from Dan Valentine. In goal, Steve Harris stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced.

-The Litigators remain perfect on the season, following their 4-3 overtime win over the Rick Rollers on Monday. Sean Wilsusen came through with the game-winning score to earn the Litigators their fifth win of the fall.

 

Roller “Z” Bronze

-On Monday night, the Back Lot Boyz made easy work of Pineapple Express, defeating them by a 6-0 final. Nick Ceriello posted a 14-save shutout in the game for the Boyz, while Chris Hansen finished the evening with a goal and an assist.

-The Circus doubled up TBD, 4-2, on Monday to earn their first win of the fall season. John Votta’s hat trick effort was largely responsible for the Circus’ victory. Goaltender Anthony Senatore also was sharp in net, making 10 saves on 12 shots.

-No one has been able to slow down the Pet Detectives, as the team earned another victory on Tuesday. The Detectives improved to 4-0 by defeating the Torpedoes, 7-2. Kevin Reinhardt and Adam Rabinowitz each had three-point games in their club’s win.

-The KJ Farrells earned a big win 4-3 over the Brews Brothers on Tuesday night. The team used three second period goals, two by Pat DeKenipp, to earn the victory.

 

Roller “Rec” East

-The Electric Mayhem improved to 4-0 on the season, with a 5-2 win over the Road Warriors last Sunday. Chris Kalicki was the game’s biggest star, as he scored twice for the Mayhem.

-The Gonzos picked up their second straight win on Tuesday, defeating Cobra Kai by a 5-1 final. Goaltender Joe Gonzales stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced, and in front of him, Kevin Reinhardt and Andy Zucaro both had multi-point nights.

-NSOP picked up their division-leading fifth win on Wednesday night, outscoring Jawz by a 8-1 total. Anthony Carone and Frank DeVito both finished the night with hat tricks, while teammate Kurt Abitz contributed four points.

 

Roller “Rec” North

-The Sharks upwards trend continued this past Sunday, as the team defeated ATM, 5-1. Netminder Matt Livolsi allowed just one goal on 18 shots in the contest. Brandon Salz also delivered a two-goal night for the Sharks.

-The Wet Banditz came up victorious in the shootout on Monday, earning a 3-2 win over the Iceholes. During regulation time, it was Rob Royce who shined with two goals for the Banditz.

-The Zambronies picked up a shootout win of their own on Tuesday, defeating the Dragons, 4-3. Mike Baldi had two goals for the Zambronies to help the team get to extra time.  Eric Oterson picked up the win between the pipes.

-Todd Kaplan was an overtime hero on Tuesday, scoring in extra time to give Covfefe a 4-3 win over Sticks Out For Harambe.
