REGISTRATION FOR THE 2012/2013 SEASON
 

 

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR RETURNING PLAYERS IS NOW CLOSED


Returning players that did not register online by the June 30th deadline must now register as new players.  See below for new player registration information.


*** Please note that Peewee and Juvenile Divisions are currently FULL for goaltenders***


Any players wishing to register as goaltenders for Peewee or Juvenile, please contact the Registrar to be added to the waitlist.


 
RETURNING PLAYERS

As was done last year, registration for returning players will be done online.  The online registration system will be active from Sunday, April 1st to Saturday, June 30th.   Please note the following:
 
  • Registration and payment in full or approved options must be received by midnight, April 30th in order to receive priority as a returning player.
  • Late registrations for returning players received after midnight on April 30th will be assessed a $50 administration fee.
  • Returning players who do not register online by midnight, June 30th will no longer hold the status of a “returning player” and will be required to register as “new member registrations” in the order they are received and subject to space availability. 
  • For additional information regarding online registration, please refer to the information sheet included with your 2011/2012 tax receipt.

 

NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION

New players are required to register in person and FULL registration information is required.  New player registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to space availability.
 
New player registration sessions will be held as follows:


 ALL DIVISIONS (Hockey 1 through Juvenile)

  • Wednesday, July 4th      5:30pm to 8:30 pm at MRC Arena

The following documents are required in order to register:
 

  • Player Registration Form
  • Birth Certificate
  • CareCard
  • 2 proofs of residence (utility bills preferred, must be full first page including tear-off paystub portion) 
  • Payment must be made at time of registration.  See below. 
  • Please note that late registration fees do not apply to new player registrations.

 
PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEES

AMHA will accept payment for registration in the form of one (1) cheque, post-dated for August 1st.  Payment by money order or bank draft will also be accepted.

* Jersey deposit– $100 jersey deposit is required for Midget and Juvenile players, upon registration.  Players that return their jerseys in good condition will carry the deposit through to subsequent seasons and will receive a refund upon leaving AMHA.  Players that do not return their jerseys will lose the deposit and will be required to pay an additional $100 deposit upon registration for the following season.  
**Rep Tryout Fees – players released during the 1st round release only will be refunded $75.  For players continuing on past the 1st round release, rep tryout fees are non-refundable.

MIDGET PLAYERS ATTENDING CAMP

Midget players who will be attending Junior or Major Midget camp and would like a spot held for them with Abbotsford Minor Hockey must pay a HOLD FEE of $50.00.  Please note the following details:
  • When registering online, please select only the hold fee.
  • Payment of the hold fee only is required at time of online registration.
  • When selecting the hold fee, the system may automatically add a $100 jersey deposit.  You will not be able to remove this during online registration.   Simply select the hold fee, disregard the jersey deposit and then submit only the $50 payment.  The $100 jersey deposit will be manually deleted upon receipt of the hold fee payment.  Please note that the $100 jersey deposit will be applied upon registration after release from Junior or Major Midget.
  • Pleasedo not send payment for Midget registration fees, rep tryout fees or jersey deposit when paying the hold fee.
  • Players returning from Junior or Major Midget must report to the Registrar without delay, to pay the balance of their fees or risk losing eligibility to play AMHA rep hockey.
  • All players must be cleared by the Registrar prior to participating in any AMHA ice session.
  • Registration for players that have not paid the hold fee and are released from Junior or Major Midget is subject to space availability.  Players may be placed on a wait list until space becomes available.
  • Hold fees are non-refundable.

  • hydro, cable or gas bill  (must be entire bill, including the tear-off payment stub portion)
  • purchase agreement

  • phone bills of any kind are not acceptable

All proofs of residence must no more than 2 months old

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:

i)          Members will be eligible for a full refund for the upcoming season if the request is made in writing to the Registrar before August 1st.
ii)         Members will be eligible for a full refund, less insurance fee ($50.00), for the upcoming season if the request is made in writing to the Registrar after August 1st but before the commencement of Rep tryouts. 
iii)         Members will be eligible for a partial refund for the upcoming season if the request is made in writing to the Registrar after Rep tryouts have commenced and up to October 1st, insurance is deducted plus the pro-rated monthly amount (7 months - Sept to March) for the month of September.  No refunds of registration after October 1st will be issued except for cases of injury or serious illness. Refunds will NOT be pro-rated to less than one month.
iv)          The date that the request is made is the date from which the refunds will be adjusted.  Times actually on the ice will NOT be considered.
v)           All requests for registration refunds must be in writing and either mailed to the Minor Hockey Office at P.O. Box 114, Abbotsford, B.C.  V2S 4N8, faxed to 1-866-418-2494 or emailed to the Registrar. Requests sent by mail will be received according to the post office date stamped on the envelope and will be the date from which the refund will be adjusted.  Written requests for refunds placed in the mailbox on the Minor Hockey office door will be date stamped with the date of the week that they are picked up by the Registrar and this date will be the date from which the refund will be adjusted.  
vi)            NO refunds after October 1st [except due to injuries or serious illness (See section L) ix) to xvi)] and except for Midget / Juvenile players rostered to Junior teams.
vii)            Refund cheques will be mailed.
viii)            Refunds for players that transfer to another Association because of a family move will be considered on a case by case basis.  To be eligible for such a refund, the family must send a letter to the AMHA Executive requesting the refund.  Refunds will then be pro-rated (less insurance) and forwarded to the new Association for payment towards the player’s fees once AMHA has received confirmation from the new Association of the player’s accepted registration.  All arrangements for such a refund and transfer must be coordinated through the Registrar.


REGISTRATION REFUNDS DUE TO INJURY OR SERIOUS ILLNESS
ix)                Refunds due to injury or serious illness after October 1st that will not allow the player to continue playing hockey for the current season will be provided upon receipt by the Minor Hockey Office of a letter from the doctor noting the date of the injury.  Refunds will then be pro-rated less insurance from the date of injury.
x)                  A player who is unable to return for the remainder of the season due to injury or serious illness will maintain their "returning player" status with respect to registration for the following season.
xi)                If a player misses 50-75% of the calendar weeks consecutively in a season due to injury or serious illness and returns to finish the season then he/she is entitled to a 25% refund.
xii)              If a player misses more than 75% of the calendar weeks consecutively in a season due to injury or serious illness and returns to finish the season then he/she is entitled to a 50% refund.
xiii)            A player is deemed to have returned from injury or serious illness as soon as they step on the ice regardless of whether it is for games or practices.
xiv)             For the purposes of this section the calendar season is commenced on the first day of Rep tryouts or in the case of the C Division, on the first day of evaluations
xv)               For the purposes of this section the season is concluded following playoffs as stipulated in the PCAHA League Schedule.
xvi)             Refunds for players due to injury or serious illness will be considered on a case by case basis.
