Griz Repeat in Tillsonburg
The Grizzlies competed in the annual Tillsonburg Red Sox Classic this past weekend and repeated as tournament Champions by defeating Burlington, Markham, Milton and WAA. In game one, Ryan Colling turned in a great performance on the mound, going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and no walks with a pair of strikeouts, exiting the game with a 4-3 lead. Jamie Kozak came on to collect the save by tossing a couple scoreless innings, as Glanbrook held on to win 4-3. Corrie Morrison collected the game winning RBI with a solo home run in the 3rd. In game two, Tim Sogan took the mound and delivered a dominating performance, going 6.1 innings yielding 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 8 Markham hitters. The Grizzlies put up a run in the 3rd and two more in the 4th on their way to a 3-1 win. Chris Cooney came in to collect the save for the Griz in the 7th, while Corrie Morrison led the way offensively going 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI. The win set up a tilt with COBA rival the Milton RedSox for a chance to advance to the final. Milton hit 3 solo jacks off Grizzly starter Jamie Kozak to take a 3-1 lead after 4, however the Grizzlies scored 5 in the 5th to take a 6-3 lead. Milton however came right back in the bottom half of the 5th, scoring 7 runs off Chris Cooney who came in to relieve Kozak, and take what seemed to be an insurmountable 10-6 lead with Glanbrook having one swing left due to time constraints. The Griz however countered by sending 17 batters to the plate, scoring 12 runs highlighted by a 3 run home run by Corrie Morrison followed by a Grand Slam from Tim Sogan to win a 18-12 slugfest. The comback win set up a championship final with WAA, Atsushi Urata vs Barry Keith. The Griz stranded 14 runners in this contest however maintained were able to plate 3 on their way to a tight 3-2 victory. Urata had his best outing of the season, throwing a complete game 4 hitter with 7 K's. Rob Spiak was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, both RBI's coming off the bat of Mike Grilli who also went 2 for 3. No off day for Glanbrook as the head to ninth line to take on the Erindale Cardinals monday night, 730 gametime

Grizzlies Drop Opener
The Grizzlies dropped their season opener last thursday night in Brampton by a score of 8-2. Atsushi Urata took the loss, going 6 innings giving up 6 hits, 3 walks, 6 runs (2 earned) with 9 strikeouts. Battlecat rookie Matthew Brodie picked up the win in relief for Brampton. Greg Urban, Tim Sogan, Brock Marshall and Corrie Marshall picked up a pair of hits each while Vic Speciale had a big night for Brampton going 4 for 5. Glanbrooks tilt vs Erindale has been cancelled for sunday night, next up is a trip to Milton wednesday night to face the Sox

Griz Brants Opener to be Rescheduled
The Glanbrook Grizzlies season opener vs the Burlington Brants has been postponed due to incomplete diamond renovations at Bernie Arbour Stadium. The Griz now travel to Brampton to kick of the 2013 campaign thursday night.
