Registration Completed for the 2024/25 season |
|
We have completed registration for the 2024/25 seaon. If you are wanting on the spare list, all spare list players pay a one time fee $45. This will cover insurance, all spare list players will participate in the Jamboree (2 games) and won't pay any extra for any other games played throughout the season. The jamboree is on September 7th and 8th. The Draft is set for Tuesday September 10th. Regular season will start Sunday September 15th.
We are always looking for Reff's. We pay $40/game. We have reffing jerseys and whistles or if you have your own gear, great. If your interested in helping out, email invermerehockey@gmail.com |

Registration for 2024/2025 Season Starts June 14th |

CONGRADULATIONS TAYTON BAY !!!! 2023/24 IHL CHAMPS.
Registration for the 2024/25 season will start June 14th - July 1st for all last year players. Fees for this season are $425. Last year player spots will only be held until July 1st. To kick the season off we will have a Jamboree September 6th and 7th. The draft will be held on Sunday September 8th. The season will start Friday September 13th. Playoffs will be a Double Knock-out tournament starting Sunday March 30 - Saturday April 5th.
For players looking to join the league email carderjye@gmail.com. leave your name, number, D.O.B., and a brief description of your past hockey experience. There are limited spots. Players from last season have first dibs on a spot. Payment will only be required if you get a spot in the league. If you don't get a spot in the league we have a spare list you can go on. All spare list players pay a one time fee $45. Info for the 23/24 Season |
|
A couple details for next season 2023/24.
1. June 15 will be the start of last years player registration.
2. July 1st all spots become open on a first come basis.
3. By paying your fees it saves your spot in the leauge.
4. This years fees will be $375/player. Please contact Jye at Carderjye@gmail.com for more info
5. We will have a Jamboree to start the season on September 8th and 9th. For this Jamboree you will be placed on a team for a game Friday and a game Saturday. The draft will happen Sunday September 10th. After the draft your captian will call you to let you know what team your on for the rest of the season.
6. For this year we eliminated the shoot-out and in place will be 3-on-3, 3min. OT period. if tied after the OT it will remain a Tie
7. There will be a tournament mid to end of October
8. The year end playoffs we will be doing a double knock out.

Registration for 22/23 season |

Registration for the 2022/2023 season will be starting June 15th for all last years players. For any new players into the league Registration will Start July 1st. This year will look sightly differant as we are antisipating 6 teams. The will be 3 games every Sunday night.
Game 1, 7:00pm - 8:10pm
Game 2, 825pm - 9:35pm
Game 3, 9:50pm - 11:00pm
The season will start Sunday September 11th. There will be 34 games if your team makes the finals. The fees for the season will be $375/player.

Playoffs set to begin!!!
Saturday we will have the mezz and a bar set up as well as beef on a bun. Each player will recieve 2 drinks and beef on a bun ( players only). All drinks will be sold at $5 a drink after your free drinks. There will be a MVP Mug handed out to each team, each game by your captain with in the dressing room that will have a drink ticket in it good for Saturday in the mezz.

Looking forward 2018/19 Season |

The IHL will have a different look to the start of the season.
1. Goalies are not automatic captains. We will be looking for
players or goalies who choose to be a captain that will be part of
the 5 captain discipline committee and who will relay messages
to the rest of there team on behalf of the league as well as help
pick your team. So if your interested please contact Jye at 250-
342-5887.
2. On Friday September 7th and 8th there will be a Jamboree
style set up were each player will play one game each day. We
will have the Mezz open both nights. With the Draft to happen
after that weekend (TBD ).
3. We will open registration for ALL LAST YEAR PLAYERS JULY
15th. Once August 10th has passed it will be first come .
4. We are looking for Goalies. We may have a spot or 2 open up
for a full time Goalie. if not there will be lots of opportunity to

2015 PLAYOFF schedule |

2015 playoff schedule is up!!!
It will be a round robin with a final. The top two teams that come out of the
round robin will playoff. The same OT rules apply. 3 player shoot out. The
other team picks your first three shooters. Alternating players. Then if still
tied, alternating one-for-one until there's a winner. The whole team must
shoot before a second shot from the same player can happen.

abuse of officials and the abuse of teammates. Might I remind all this is a
fun League and everyone pays the same amount of money to play
regardless of skill and or ability. We (The league) have decided if further
complaints are made we will take further action. We will not risk losing
players and officials due to abuse. We need all players regardless of skill and
ability to make up this fun League.

Year end tourney starts March 27,28,29 weekend. We are working on having
a bar in the mezz. That will have cheaper drinks. As well as providing pizza
and maybe burgers or hotdogs. We have done a great job with moving
players and booze out of the dressing room and want that to continue
through the tourney. We want it to be a fun weekend but we need
everyone's help to make sure ABSOLUTLY NO ONE THAT HAS BEEN

Rule reminders |

Just a reminder. If there is a penalty in the last minute and the SCORE IS
WITH IN 1 GOAL it will be a penalty shot.
The shoot out will start with your team picking the first 5 players FROM THE
OTHER TEAM. If it's still tied you can pick your own shooter sudden death. A
shooter may only go again once the whole team has had a chance to shoot.
A rep from each team will rock/paper/scissors the winner will choose who
shoots first. |

Registration starts NOW for 14/15 for last years players |

Hey all,
As most of you may or may not know, the IHL has changed hands as far as
league governors are concerned. Over the past few years Tyler Dow, Jody
Brooks and Bjorn Billehaug have done an excellent job running the league
but have chose to retire from their positions. Taking the place of those 3
guys will be Jye Carder, Cory Stanbury and Jason Botterill. We have decided
to make a few changes this year that will hopefully help the league with
attendance issues, as well as financially. The changes we have made this
year are as follows:
#1 We are taking one team out of the league, leaving us with 5. In addition
to that, each team will be CAPTAINED BY A GOALIE.
#2 To make the schedule work, each team will have a bye every 5th week.
This will still give every team 30 games throughout the season. ( Which is
still comparable to previous years with anywhere between 28- 32 games
being played depending on success in tournaments.) Also having only 2
games per night will allow us to have game times at 7:00 and 8:30, No
more 9:40 game.
#3 There will be no mid season tournament, only a year end tourney. The
format for the year end tournament will be discussed at a later date.
Last but definitely not least, REGISTRATION & PAYMENT:
This email is being sent out to everybody that played in the IHL last year to
give you guys 5 WEEKS NOTICE in advance to the registration and payments
for new players coming into the league. The fees are $320 a player. we will
be opening up registration for new players on August 19th and closing
registration for EVERYBODY on August 31, with the draft taking place on
September 2nd. you must be registered and payed before the date of
August 19th in order to assure your spot in the league. (Please keep in
mind we are only allowing 75 players in this year as apposed to 90 in
previous years) If you are a player from last year and sign up and pay after
August 19th you will be put on the list in order of when you signed up, even
you are behind a player that is new to the league.
PAYMENT CAN BE MADE IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
Either Cheque or Cash, Cheques being made out to "Invermere Hockey
League"

EXCEPTIONS. We are trying to make an equal playing ground for everybody
that wants to be a part of this league and are hoping that by taking less
players we will attract the players that want to show up.

Captain Realignment |
|
Would you like to be a team captain in the Invermere Hockey
League?
Previously, team captains have been designated by the league
conveners.
The current league conveners would like to change the way
captains are designated and give you, the league participants, the
chance to designate captains. The new process for designating
team captains will be as follows:
If you are currently a captain, or would like to be a team captain,
you will need to express your interest to one of the league
conveners prior to Friday, March 22. Please Note: goalies are not
eligible to be team captains.
On tournament Saturday (i.e. March 23) the league conveners
will visit each team teams’ dressing room with ballots for the
team captain vote. Each ballot will contain the names of players
who are interested in being captain for the 2013-14 IHL season.
The 6 players who receive the most votes will be designated
captain.
The league conveners will tally the votes on Saturday and will
announce the team captains for 2013-14 on Sunday, March 24.
Please ensure you are familiar with the roles and responsibilities
that accompany being a team captain prior to submitting your
name.

The 2012-13 draft was held on Monday night at Eagle Ranch Golf Course. There were a total of 84 players in the draft. The six captains drafted teams of 13 skaters and 1 goalie. Please Note: All new players got into the league this year! Team rosters will be e-mailed out asap and captains will be contacting their respective draft picks. The puck drops on Sunday! |

The 2012 IHL Playoffs will take place Apr 13-15. Each team will
be seeded based on the regular season standings and will be
guaranteed 3 games. Pizza will be delivered to each team after
their game on Saturday night. Playoff schedule has been posted
on web-site and will be given out to teams this Sunday. |

2012 Playoff Rules & Regulations |
|
Regular season IHL rules and regulations will apply to all games
with the following exceptions: 1) The last 5 minutes of the third
period will be stop time, when teams are tied, or a team is down
by one goal or less. All penalties will be 2 minutes in length and
the penalty shot rule during the last minute of play will not
apply. 2) At the end of regulation time, if teams are tied, there
will be a 3 minute stop time (4 on 4) sudden victory overtime
period. At the conclusion of the 3 minute overtime period, there
will be a shootout if the teams are still tied. 3) The home team
shall have the choice of shooting first or second. The shootout
will then proceed in a "sudden death" format. No player may
shoot twice until everyone who is eligible has shot. |

Warriors Take Out Wolves, Claim IHL Title |
|
With a perfect 4-0 record through the double elimination tournament, the Walker’s Repair Warriors claimed their second league championship in three years. Lead by the strong goaltending of Jason Lawrick and scoring from Jarrett Chasse, the Warriors who went into the final tournament as the 3rd seed, easily defeated the YPC Wolves in the title game 8-1. After losing their opening game on Friday night to the Warriors, the Wolves climbed their way through the bottom tier of the tournament with wins over the Inside Edge Bruins, NAPA Blues, and Lake Auto Leafs to find their way to the championship game.
Members of the championship team include Captain Jason Botterill, Geoff Cain, Neil Carey, Jarrett Chasse, Mark Dyck, Chris East, Grant Kelly, Jason Lawrick, Kevin Losey, Dave Mesenchuk, Corey Olson, Kirk Pitaoulis, Ryan Stimming, and Mitch Taylor.

Playoff Rules and Regulations |

Zero Tolerance Policy |
|
The League Conveners would like to remind all the players in the IHL that there is a "Zero Tolerance Policy" towards questioning, or the verbal abuse of officials(see below.) It's extremely hard to get officials out on Sunday nights for our games, and we don't need to make it any harder on them by being abusive.
IHL Zero-Tolerance Policy
The IHL has implemented a Zero-Tolerance Policy which regulates the conduct of players toward game officials. Players are not allowed to challenge an official’s decision and are not allowed to make abusive comments. This includes comments and complaints from team benches, penalty boxes, or the stands.
1. A 10-minute misconduct will be given to any player who challenges an official’s decision. If another misconduct is given to the same team for challenging the official, the team will default the game.
2. Officials shall write up an incident report of any defaulted game, including recommendations for further action. The League Conveners’’ will review the report and will decide on any additional action that might be required.
