Tanguay stops them all in PG road win
- Submitted by
Sam Tanguay turned aside all 29 shots and three different scorers hit the scoresheet for the Prince George Spruce Kings in a 3-0 road win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Jarod Hovde's goal just 47 seconds into the game proved to be the winner with Bryan Basilico adding on in the second. Nic Ponak added the final PG marker in the third.

For Tanguay, it was his first shutout in the BCHL and he was named the game's 1st Star.

Kohen Olischefski's goal with 54 seconds left clinched a 3-2 road win for the Chilliwack Chiefs over the Wenatchee Wild. Chilliwack led 2-1 after two getting a first-period tally from Connor McCarthy and a goal from Darien Craighead in the second. Dakota Raabe got the Wild on the board and after Charlie Combs tied the game in the third, Olischefski was the hero with a late winner. Aidan Pelino made 36 saves for the win.

Tyler Ward scored twice in quick succession early in the first for the Merritt Centennials and Colin Grannary made it 3-0 40 seconds later, paving the way for a 5-2 home win over the Trail Smoke Eaters. Grannary would get a second before Kyle Star got the Smokies on the board but Nick Fidanza restored the Cents' advantage. Cole Kehler made 39 saves for the win.

Scott Conway, Luke Voltin and Nick Jones built a 3-0 edge for the Penticton Vees and they held off late replies from the West Kelowna Warriors to earn a 3-2 home win. Liam Blackburn scored at 19:10 of the second and Jonathan Desbiens tallied on the man advantage in the third but they could not get the tying goal past Anthony Brodeur, who made 38 saves for the win.

Carson Bolduc had a goal and two assists and Brandon Kegler made 33 saves as the Salmon Arm Silverbacks downed the visiting Powell River Kings 5-2. Colton Thibault and Josh Laframboise scored in the first for the 'Backs with Tristan Mullin getting the Kings on the board in the second. Chase Zieky and Elijiah Barriga then sandwiched a Kings goal by Hunter Findlater. Bolduc iced the game with an empty-netter with 27 seconds left.

Zac Masson had the winning goal and an assist to take 1st Star while Nick Trenciansky made 30 saves as the Langley Rivermen downed the visiting Coquitlam Express 5-2. Erik Udahl opened the scoring for the visitors but Matt Saharchuk replied just 36 seconds later. Langley went ahead 3-1 in the second with goals by Adam Sinclair and Masson. Alex Ambrosio got the Express back within one but Jason O'Neill and Saharchuk (empty net) responded for the Rivermen.

Corey Renwick's goal midway through the third period broke a deadlock and delivered a 3-2 Nanaimo Clippers road win over the Victoria Grizzlies. Kevin Massy opened the scoring for the Grizz but Devin Brosseau and Zach Court put the Clips up in the second before Alex Peck tied it heading to the third. It remained even until Renwick's tally with 7:07 to go.
