Blue scratches 11 year itch with championship

The Blue Bulldogs had a reputation. They were known for being tough to play against. Known for pumping out winning regular seasons. Unfortunately, they were also known for choking in the playoffs.
Finally, following an unprecedented 19-0-1 regular season, the Blue Bulldogs finally shook off the demons of hockey past by defeating the White Iceman in two games to claim JHL supremacy in 2012.
It didn't come easy as the Dogs squeaked out a 1-goal victory in Game 3 with the Orange Crush in the semi-finals, taking their punches to hang on. Although they won the final series in two games, both games could have gone either way.
But the Bulldogs will take it. Finally claiming what had eluded the core of that squad for so many years.
"Sol Casseres didn't win and we did," grinned Bulldog captain Mark David, acknowleding the true value of the championship. "Sol didn't win."
With Blue's championship in the rearview mirror, many are now looking out their sunroofs to see if there are any pigs flying around town.
