Game Summary
This past weekend in the CHL we saw the Innisfail Eagles host the Cremona Coyotes in what was a feisty affair. Each team would not back down as we would see some classic old school Chinook Hockey. We got some nice goals, good goaltending, and even an old school Tilly. Let’s dive in:
Innisfail scored early and often in this one with the opening goal coming minutes into the first period. Mike Muir was able to make some unreal saves for Cremona early on to keep his team in the game, however it wouldn’t be enough as Innisfail would go on to take a 4-0 lead into the second. That wasn’t the story of the period as we got heated fight to end the third. Some old school hockey to start off this one.
Innisfail wouldn’t take their foot off the gas as they would go on to pot six in the second and one in the third. The middle and final frame was one feisty affair as both teams looked to assert themselves physically. Cremona had some chances with two breakaways, however each was denied by goaltender Allan York. York was making his season debut for Innisfail.
Up next we have Cremona travelling to Stony Plain to face the Eagles in this upcoming weekends CHL matchup. Innisfail will have a week off before travelling to Stony Plain on Feb 4th. Puck drop for this weekends matchup is 7:45pm in Stony Plain.
