The 11th annual Golden Gate Cup

It's with great joy that we announce the return of the Golden Gate Cup!

It is great to have the Golden Gate Cup, hosted in Northern California for the past 10 years return. After not being able to do so last year because of COVID restrictions, we are very excited to have the tournament back on the Floorball calendar.

Join one of the the Premier Floorball Tournaments in the US, where teams compete at the highest level and the winning team in each division wins $1,000.00

This year is extra special as there will  be a youth division for the first time ever at Golden Gate Cup. Age groups will be based on registered teams.

This is sure to be an epic battle between new and past US Floorball champions!

The 2021, 2018 and 2016 US National champions, Menlo Park will be there. Take this opportunity to play against them and many other great teams from all over the USA.

The Golden Gate Cup will be played at Silver Creek Sportsplex in San Jose, CA. This is the same amazing facility as past years.

This tournament is sanctioned by the USA Floorball Association and requires a USA Floorball membership. This is a non-profit event and all proceeds from this event will go to support our US National teams competing at the WFC's later this year.

USA Floorball membership is required for all participants.

Adult team fee:
Early team registration - before -    10/15/2021 $650.00
Late team registration After  10/15/2021 $900.00

Youth team fee:
Early team registration - before - 10/15/2021  $250.00
Late team registration  After  10/15/2021 $500.00

Free agents:
Early individual Player Registration 10/15/2021 $100.00
Late individual Player Registration After: 10/15/2021 $180.00

Disclaimer: there is no guarantee that free agents will be able to join an existing team. Golden Gate Cup will do everything in its power to make accommodations to free agents. Teams in need of players are encouraged to work with Golden Gate Cup to find available players.

Schedule:
Preliminary tournament schedule will be released NLT 15 days before the tournament. Final schedule will be posted EOD, November 2.

Date & Time:
Depending on the amount of registered teams games will potentially start on Friday, Nov 12. This will be announced NLT 15 days before tournament.

Planned Tournament Start:          Saturday, Nov   13,    8am PST
Planned Tournament End: Sunday,     Nov, 14,    5pm PST

Preliminary schedule will be posted Nov 1^st on the USA Floorball website.

COVID-19 protocol:

USA Floorball and any venue used, always applies local and state protocols and rules for every tournament. COVID-19 rules and regulations are subject to change. Be prepared to comply accordingly since local and state rules seems to change without much notice. Any player who does not comply with the local venue COVID-19 rules and protocol will not be able to play or participate in the tournament. In case of cancelation because of COVID-19, it will be communicated to all teams and players via the USA floorball website as soon as possible based on state government regulations and communications.

Golden Gate Cup does not guarantee a refund for team or player registration fees in case of tournament cancellation. Golden Gate Cup will do everything in it's power to return any fees collected, but this is all pending on the venue cancelation policies for COVID-19 protocols.

Penalty shootout competition:
Players will get an opportunity to compete for a free Floorball stick in the penalty shootout competition midday Saturday on the Youth rink.

Awards and recognition:
Sunday, Nov 10th,                 5pm            Silver Creek restaurant

Awards will be given to teams placing 1st, 2nd & 3^rd during the Sunday awards ceremony following the final game at the Silver Creek restaurant.

There will be trophies for Golden Gate Cup MVP, Most goals, Points assists and "biggest hacker".
