Add Michael Hasson's name to the ever-growing list of local lads playing in the OHL this season.
Hasson signed with the Brampton Battalion last Saturday and expects to be in the lineup tonight in Brampton and tomorrow in Guelph when the Battalion and Storm play a home-and-home exhibition set.
"I'm pumped to come into town and have all my buddies there. It's going to be sick," Hasson said over the phone from Brampton last night.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound winger was a ninth-round draft pick of Brampton in the 2007 OHL priority draft.
Last season he played midget hockey in Guelph.
"I played in two exhibition games against Kitchener and I just tried to keep it simple," he said. "Just go out there and give it 110 (per cent) every shift. They're looking for guys to give 110 all the time."
Hasson wanted to make sure his old minor hockey coaches got the thanks they deserved for getting him to this point.
He rhymed off former Guelph Minor Hockey Association coaches Pat Devine, Brad Maxwell, Dave Hill, Larry Hutchinson, Jim McEachern and Paul Jennings as people he wanted to recognize.
There will be at least seven Guelph minor hockey products playing in the OHL this season.
