DECEMBER CCM 3 STARS

FIRST STAR: Kiana McNinch #16, C, Swift Current Innovation Credit Union Wildcats

Kiana is a hard-working player who never takes a shift off.  She is relentless on pucks, and is continuously creating turnovers.  She is reliable in all three zones.  Kiana is gifted offensively, as she handles the puck well, has a strong shot, makes plays and protects the puck.  She plays in all situations for the Wildcats and has made a seamless transition from the wing earlier in the season to centre.  In 32 league, tournament and exhibition games this year McNinch has 7 goals, 20 assists, 18 PIMS and a +15 plus/minus rating.  She brings a stong work ethic to the rink on a daily basis, is very coachable and puts team success ahead of personal achievements.

Stats:

6GP - 2 goals/6 assists/2PIMS

SECOND STAR: Ava Cole, #9, Defence, Battleford Sharks

On the Battleford Sharks team, we do not have players wear C’s or A’s. Our belief is that all players need to find their own place and space to lead. Ava is one of our players who naturally leads and leads by example by always giving 110% no matter if it is practices, games or in our off-ice training. Ava makes herself and all those around her better because of her commitment to the team, and her commitment to working hard to improve her skills and understanding of the game.

Stats:

Because of this commitment, Ava takes pride in her position and her job on defence and has over 40 blocked shots in the books for this year. Ava is a fierce competitor and a remarkable teammate.

THIRD STAR: Kaitlyn Gilroy, #6, Forward, Notre Dame Hounds

Kaitlyn is a leader for the Hounds both on and off the ice and her tireless work ethic often sets the pace for the team both in practice and in the weight room.  She plays a power forward role and typically has a physical presence in games as she enjoys playing in all the hard areas of the ice.

Stats:

2gp / 2Goals / 2 assists
