DESCRIPTION OF EXECUTIVE AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESPONSIBILITIES
OCTOBER 2006 EXECUTIVE • President – Presides over all league business and is ultimately responsible for the proper operation of the league. Represents the league at all functions including but not limited to District, Provincial and National meetings as required. Currently takes care of receiving all mail, supplies and other communications for Little League Headquarters. Has been responsible overseeing of the concession operations including the ordering of supplies and the safe keeping of all concession monies (Collections and depositing of funds). As a member of the Executive Committee, is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring full board participation and is responsible for the constitutional stewardship of the Board affairs as well as the fair investigation and adjudication of disciplinary issues that arise from time to time for Coaches and Managers as per Little League operating guidelines. (This position has significant responsibilities year round) • 1st Vice President – Presides in the absence of the President. Is part of the executive and is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring full board participation. Works with the President and carries out duties as assigned by the President. Usually holds another board position. As a member of the Executive Committee, is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring full board participation and is responsible for the constitutional stewardship of the Board affairs as well as the fair investigation and adjudication of disciplinary issues that arise from time to time for Coaches and Managers. (This position has significant responsibilities year round) • 2nd Vice President - Presides in the absence of the 1st Vice President. Is part of the executive and is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring board input. Works with the President and carries out duties as assigned by the President. Usually holds another board position. As a member of the Executive Committee, is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring full board participation and is responsible for the constitutional stewardship of the Board affairs as well as the fair investigation and adjudication of disciplinary issues that arise from time to time for Coaches and Managers. (This position has significant responsibilities year round) • Secretary – Is responsible for ensuring that all notices of board business are distributed in a timely manner to appropriate groups or members, takes minutes of meetings and distributes said minutes. As a member of the Executive Committee, is involved with decision making that can be handled at the executive level without requiring full board participation and is responsible for the constitutional stewardship of the Board affairs as well as the fair investigation and adjudication of disciplinary issues that arise from time to time for Coaches and Managers. Is active in organizing Opening and Closing ceremonies. Responsible for scheduling of volunteer concession duties for the Major Diamond and Moffit Park concessions. (This position has significant responsibilities year round) • Treasurer – Oversees all financial aspects of the Leagues business including Banking, , property and liability Insurance, Little league player and team assessments, City operating agreements, umpire payments and all accounts receivable and payable. Responsible for financial recording and reporting of the League’s $250,000 operating budget to the standards required by the societies act and the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.
