What is spring Flag?
Spring Flag is a five on five non-contact flag football game that runs in the VMFL during the months of April and May. Each team comprises of around six to eight players and games are played over five weekends with each weekend consisting of multiple games during the day. After the five weekends teams head to the provincial championships which take place over a full weekend in May.
The games are played on a football field but sideline to sideline. The field of play is approximately 25 yards X 65 yards.
5 on 5 flag is a very quick game, easy to learn and great for developing Receivers, Quarterbacks and Defensive Backs. Most importantly, while learning, the players are going to have a blast!
The flags are 2 inch by 18 inch strips of coloured cloth that hang from the belt at either side of the players shorts. The game is fast past and exciting.
Games are held on one day and are tournament style. Teams will play four 25 minute games with one bye, all with 2.5 hours.
At the end of the season all teams, if they wish, can attend the Provincial championship Tournament in Kamloops(This is not mandatory to attend). This is one great weekend of fun
