The Orillia Terriers Minor Midget A team advances to the third game of the quarter finals with a two game lead. Last evening, teamwork paid off, as the Terriers faced a hard hitting, ferocious eye of the tiger early into the game. It was obvious, the tigers were there to show their might, but low and behold the dogs were out to play, (and play they did). The refs were not going to take any …… and the tigers were the first to fall victim to their own demise. They continued on the same path, hard hitting and. The dogs were tested to their limits. Hormones and sweat could of thrown the boys off their game plan, but as usual they were able to maintain a good sense of class and play a solid game of hockey. Discipline – Teamwork—Gate Keeping and Goal scoring, Parental and Coach support are their secret to success. The accusation of having a stacked team full of AAA players is unfounded. These boys have worked hard under the coaching staff of Mr Borelli, Mr Salmon and Mr Winnitoy. They have continued to progress throughout the season to the level of play, that we so much enjoy. We congratulate them for their success and wish them future triumph on and off the ice.

Orillia Minor Midget A team take the lead in the first of the final play down series against the Aurora Tigers. Leading the game 4 to 1 and heading into the last minutes of the game, Aurora rallied back to a one-goal difference. The intense pressure to maintain the lead gave the impression that father time was not going to let the Terriers win this game with ease. During the last few minutes of the game, the Aurora coach pulled his goalie and the Orillia Terriers were challenged to face an extra player on their end of the ice. The Orillia Terriers talent to play as a unit became obvious. Their pose and charisma outlasted the efforts put forth by the Tigers. Again, the Terriers strengths and respect for the game came through, winning the game 4 to 1. Congratulations boys and keep up the good work. Next game, Friday in Aurora. See schedule for game times and locations.

ORILLIA 'A' TEAM ADVANCES TO 'AA' FINAL IN PICKERING Our League rival, the Minor Midget 'A' Orillia Terriers were involved in a 'AA' Tournament this past weekend in Pickering against some of the finest teams in Ontario and advanced to the Final. Despite leading 2-1 over Barrie with under a minute to go, Orillia would fall in overtime 3-2 to the Flyers. Orillia represented the York Simcoe Minor Midget 'A' Divison very strongly and we wish to congratulate them on their effort. In the semi-finals they defeated pre-Tournament favourite and host Pickering. Our own Aurora 'AA' Team was enetered as well and they did defeat Orillia on Friday 2-1, advancing to the semi-finals, where they fell to eventual Champion Barrie, 4-0. Great effort Tigers, Great effort Terriers!
